During his younger years he practiced his motto, 'If you don't make dust, you eat dust.' Racing professional flat track motorcycles from New York to Ohio, to California and in between, most of the time trying to lead, not to be second best. He was critically injured in a race on September 9, 1979. Still wanting to make dust and not eat dust, he met Bobby Johnson in the PRCA 'Rodeo Cowboys Association,' as a competitive bare back rider. From cycles to saddles, he decided to travel with cowboys and cowgirls who make a living out of the sanctioned rodeo circuit. He didn't want to give up the dust, dirt and roar of the crowd, so he chose another form of high stakes competition in the rodeo. After achieving recognition, he's thought to be traveling the world on a one way journey. 'Remember: if you don't make dust, you eat dust.'
