No marks or writing observed in text. Binding tight and square. Gently read. . . . . . . . . . An introduction to the principal forms and orders of Western liturgy between about 900 and 1700, this book explains their nature and basic historical origin, and presents in detail the contents and orders of principal services as well as additional and special forms of worship. This book emphasizes the mainstream of Western liturgy derived from the medieval Roman Rite as found in secular and monastic churches. After the Reformation it concentrates on the rites of the Roman Catholic church and the Church of England. Harper discusses the nature of liturgy and provides an historical summary and individual chapters on medieval churches and their communities, the Christian calendar, medieval liturgical books, the Psalms, the Office, the Mass, Processions and Additional Observances, Holy Week and Easter, the Tridentine Rite, and the English Book of Common Prayer. Harper concludes with two chapters which raise the problems of establishing the order of a liturgical service, and introduces selected medieval sources accessible in facsimile or edition. A select, annotated bibliography and a glossary of ecclesiastical and liturgical terms are included.

He left St. Mark’s for All Saints in Pasadena, where he served as music director until 1979, when he returned to Berkeley to pursue and attain his doctorate in Theology and the Arts at CDSP. While he was a student, he served as Music Director and Organist at St. Mary Magdalen Parish. After receiving his degree, other Bay Area parishes David served included St. Luke’s Episcopal in San Francisco, St. Ignatius on the campus of University of San Francisco, and St. Dominic Catholic Church in San Francisco. Dr. Farr’s final professional position was at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Oakland. He observed his retirement at St. Paul in June of this year. This past year he married his long-time companion, Ed Roybal, who survives him. David Farr is remembered for his invariably upbeat spirit. He also had an incredible confidence in both his own abilities and those of the singers and players he guided. That is a rare combination of qualities in anyone.

Without Him, Mylon Le Fevre; Christi Le Fevre
14 Mylon Le Fevre; Christi Le Fevre Without Him
Heritage Builders April 2016 1942603207 / 9781942603207 Soft Cover Used - Very Good
No marks or writing observed in text. Binding tight and square. Gently read. . . . . . . . . . . . . . This is the true story of a simple, uneducated kid from Georgia whose dreams all came true. From his lonely, angry childhood he wrote and sang music as a way to express his deepest feelings. While in the army at age 19, Elvis Presley recorded one of his classic Gospel songs, 'Without Him.' In a little more than a year, more than 100 artists recorded this song and began the whirlwind ride that would lead Mylon away from his Christian roots and to a fantasy world of rock and roll he couldn't make up if he tried. This is Mylon's story. This book contains more than 100 photos from Mylon's collection of some of the most famous rock stars in history along withMylon getting strung out on heroin and cocaine. He was trapped in a seemingly hopeless pit of depression and loneliness. Mylon finally found what he had ben searching for all his life, but it wasn't in drugs or money or fame. He found God. He no longer needed drugs to turn him on; instead now he is a loving Heavenly Father, who forgave him and fufilled him with purpose and hope. This journey Mylon lays out is intriguing, and it could change your life. There are few stories that are so fascinating yet so graphic. You will be enraptured by the simple easy to ready writing style that really defines who the man is.
