Classic Bookbinding specializes in offering conservation and rebinding on leather bound library bound books.  The founder, Gregory Ware, has perfected his skill in bookbinding for over thirty years.  He has trained and worked as a bookbinder for Catholic University, The Government Printing Office and a phase conservator at The Library of Congress.

He worked on over 400 volumes at Catholic University in Washington, DC in the Canon Law Library.

Mr. Ware has received complimentary accolades and letters of appreciation for his attention to detail and superb work in the preservation and restoration of valued and aged books. He has had a long standing working relationship with Dumbarton Oaks and a host of other private libraries.

Of note, he has worked on books dating back to the sixteenth century and produced clamshell boxes for materials dating back to the thirteenth century which has always been a cornerstone of Classic Bookbinding’s reputation.  They are a member of the Guild of Book Workers.
